Our review

Patientdesk is an AI receptionist and front-office platform for dental practices, backed by Y Combinator (Winter 2026). It answers inbound calls 24/7 with unlimited minutes, places outbound recall and reactivation calls, and books appointments directly into the practice management system. The company says it verifies insurance live during the booking call and is adding claims submission, denial follow-up and billing.

Patientdesk integrates with Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft and CareStack, among others. It raised $3.8 million and says it has more than 60 clinics live across the US, Australia and the UK. Pricing is published per location by chair count on month-to-month terms, and recall agents are priced as a share of collected revenue. It also offers chatbots, marketing buildouts and its own PMS for new clinics.

Who it's for: practices that want an AI receptionist on flexible terms, and new clinics that want a bundled AI-first setup.

Watch-outs: it's a very young company. Confirm support coverage, and read the revenue-share terms for recall carefully.

Our take: 7.1. Ambitious and transparent on pricing, but early.
