Our review

Dentina, formerly Dentia.ai, is an AI receptionist built by a dentist in California. It answers the calls a practice misses, books appointments directly into the PMS, and calls patients to confirm appointments and book overdue recalls. Practices can use inbound, outbound or both. It works with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve and Denticon, among others.

Dentina publishes live usage figures on its site, including more than 2.8 million calls handled and more than 2,000 dentists and DSOs as customers. These are vendor-reported. It offers a 30-day free trial with no setup fee, and independent reviewers note self-serve onboarding that can be live in two or three days, which is faster than most competitors.

Who it's for: small and mid-size practices that want an affordable AI receptionist they can try without a long setup.

Watch-outs: pricing isn't listed on the homepage. Test recall calls with a small patient group first and confirm how it handles complicated insurance or treatment questions.

Our take: 7.4. Easy to try and broadly integrated.
